_Projects_

I have decided not to include here most of the web-based projects I have worked on, mainly to avoid confusion in cases where a more recent version of the project exists, which I may not have worked on.

Those that I have included here are almost entirely of purely "historical" interest, and I leave them here simply as a record.

[Svengelska Widget]

Svengelska WidgetWhat's a Widget? Its a small desktop gadget for your PC or Mac, which runs within a programme called Konfabulator. Svengelska translates between Swedish and English, or English and Swedish. It sends a query via your browser to the Swedish Agency for School Improvement's excellent online dictionary. Currently at version 1.1.1.

You can download Svengelska here but you need first to install Konfabulator, which is shareware. See www.konfabulator.com for details.

Update: July 2005. Konfabulator is now free. Currently at version 2.1.1. (Its been bought out by Yahoo!).

[INDUSTRIAL LANDSCAPE: NORRKÖPING, SWEDEN]

Strykjärnet

This piece is the result of a project produced by Visual Culture and Digital Media students at Linköping University, Sweden. The project focusses on the Industrial Landscape area of Norrköping, which in its heyday was known as Sweden's Manchester. The whole completed 'Industrial Landscape' project is online at www.industriallandscape.com.br The project is largely built using Macromedia Flash, although some sections use Quicktime also. It consists of an interactive game (by Simon Vanesse), a quiz (by Maja Malovrh), several short movies and a number of informative pages on industry and Norrköping. The project was team-based as a whole with individual contributions to different aspects of the project. The interface was co-designed by Simon Vanesse and myself, with input from the rest of the team. Project units were built individually also. You can see mine by clicking the links below:

_Research_

[ :: A Ramble Around the Internet :: ] [Copyright, Security, Paranoia and Authority]

CopAs part of the course mentioned above I did some research into recent developments in internet culture, and attitudes to issues of copyright, security and paranoia. I wrote this up into an essay in March this year (2004). Its about 5,000 words - if you would like to read this piece you can view the file in PDF format (240K) by clicking here.

If you would like more information on anything you find on this site please email me.
